Postage Stamp

Artist Reflection

The strongest technical aspect of my work would probably be the border of the postage stamp since it has a bevel and emboss effect on it which creates depth to the stamp. The technical aspect of my stamp which could be improved on is making it appear that the images were actually printed on the stamp and not appear as they were sitting on top.

The easy part of this art activity was coming up with a place that I wanted to focus on since I already knew I wanted to use all my own photos it limited my choices and then I knew Cape Cod would be the perfect place since I had plenty of pictures of lighthouses and also had the picture of the crab which I absolutely love. The difficult part of this art activity was creating the text postage stamp which is the map one. I used a map which already had all the towns names on it but I erased all the names on it and used the text tool to create new text and also erased parts of the map to make it more simple.

I demonstrated the objective of this art activity by creating a text postage stamp, simple postage stamp, and a repetition postage stamp. If I were to do this activity again I may focus on all of New England since Cape Cod is such a small place, I think it would be cool creating stamps that represent a greater area.
